Video by Charles Chiu

Here's a video made by Charles Chiu.

Just sharing to you something that made me smile, when the past few days hasn't been going so good. It's all too depressing. I skipped school today and just e-mailed my assignment. I'm seriouslly considering quitting school, but I know my parents won't let me. But still, the fact I'm even considering it says something.

Amara

So our old friends Brent and Blanche Dy once again gathered us all together. Thank you to their parents for planning the whole thing for them to get to spend time with us.

10:30 Timmy picked me up. I hopped in the car with Timmy's girlfriend Fiona in the front seat and John with me at the back. We picked up Carla at her place and it was off at Starbucks, Ayala- the usual waiting place. We stayed there for a little over an hour, waited for the others to arrive. I bought myself 3 egg tart sandwich at Bread Talk and shared one to John. And yes, we ate it at Starbucks.

Charles, Katrina, and Ingrid arrived. We also bumped into Jedd in Starbucks. He had no candy for me this time. Last person to arrive was Matthieu Tiu. It would be the first time that we both would talk and actually get to meet. We met a few times and we know each other because we've had common batch mates, but he arrived at BCS way after I was long out of that school.

So Carla, Fiona, and I in Timmy's car. We stopped by Caltex just outside Maria Luisa to pick up a girl named Kyna. We just met today. She seemed pretty cool with her poker chips and what knots. I swear, if I closed my eyes, I'll think I'm with Gillian Uang! They sound alike and they talk kind of alike too!

In Ingrid's car was John, Matthieu, Charles, Katrina, and of course Ingrid. Katrina left her car at Ayala to go and ride with them.

It wasn't such a long drive after all. We've reached Amara. And to our surprise, there was a party and they even catered! The Dy twins' relatives were there too. This was supposedly a despedida (going away party), but since they're extending their stay up to the 8th of November, it's just another gathering- words from Blanche.

After stuffing ourselves up. We played games!

Poker.

this went on the longest

Charles wanted to try natural lighting

 Girls VS. Boys
Girls had a good lead, but the boys won in the end.

And finally, what most of us have been waiting for, especially John- SWIMMING! A lot came unprepared, thinking they could resist swimming, BUT THEY WERE WRONG.

 Water looks so good

My only swimming shot of the day

We had pool games as well:

  • Snake-snake
  • Cat and Mouse
  • Holding Your Breath Contest
  • Swimming Contest

I thought I came prepared, but I forgot to bring a towel! :(

Group Shots!

After everyone changed to dry clothes (I was the last one to get out of the pool), we went to visit the light house.

Starving, we were off to Ayala for dinner. I switched car seat with John since Ingrid's car seemed like it was weighed down too much. I rode with Charles and Matthieu at the back seat. Matthieu doesn't talk much, but boy was I talkative! Charles also did some talking, and it was fun laughing at old elementary moments.

We had dinner at the Mooon. And they're planning to go bowling tomorrow after their oath taking. Nurses, I'm surrounded by them. I went home with Charles, his driver picked him up. And then we talked some more. It's nice talking to Charles, we just talk about anything really.

 Dinner Time at Mooon

Side note, CONGRATULATIONS Carla on the new job! :) I hope it turns out great for you!

THANK YOU TO THE DY FAMILY FOR THIS FUN DAY!
Thank you to Timmy, Ingrid, and Charles for my ride! :)

I only wished I got to enjoy the day with my boyfriend too. Missed him badly over the weekend. Nothing cheesy, just the truth. :) Good news is, I'll see him tomorrow! And even though while swimming and going on this fun day made me push aside worried thoughts associated to my school, it has now become reality once again. And I need to face it. School isn't so rad anymore. :(

21: Birthday Entry

September 16: The day I turned 21

So I was late for my lecture class but I made it in time for our laboratory. My friend Herard was text messaging me that he was outside waiting for me. I went out and thought he had something important in mind, and since it was almost time for lunch, I just got out of class altogether. We bumped into my boyfriend Elwin, he seemed like he was grasping his breath from running around everywhere- that should have given it away, but it didn't. We walked to the office, since I had to drop something off for Kat (photocopy notes I borrowed). And as I entered, SURPRISE!

They were all on one side, cramped together. It seemed like they were anticipating my entrance. There was a lovely chocolate cake on the table, but I was too nervous, I didn't get to read the dedications on it. I was a bit dizzy and shy, blushing from the surprise and the birthday song they sang.

Red ribbon chocolate cake from boyfriend :)

Friends who were in on it

Later I found out it was my boyfriend who planned the whole thing. Sweet Elwin. He ran from school to Country  Mall more than two times. He spent for the cake, the plate, fork, cups, and sodas. It has got to be the sweetest surprise anyone has ever given me. :) And now you see, one of the many reasons, why I love him.

I look all messed up and he looks stressed out,
but I love this photo :)

After that, we grabbed lunch at Matia's with our friend Lyndon. We then went to Country Mall, Lyndon decided to go to school ahead. I decided to buy a birthday palabok for some friends to eat. After dropping off the birthday palabok, I got busy with my circuits diagram. I also decided to buy a smaller birthday palabok for my teachers. I'm sure Mrs. Manlosa got to eat it, but I'm not sure with the other teachers I addressed it to since I never heard from them about it.

Another good news that day, I passed the Data Structures 2 long exam. It's not a high score to boast, but I'm thankful I passed it. It's not the easiest subject in the world.

We had a general meeting for PSITS that night. At around 8pm I looked over to the teachers and Mrs. Manlosa read my mind. I was going to ask to be excused since I had dinner plans with the family, but before they let me off the hook, they once again sang a happy birthday song to me and I was embarrassed. I hid behind a friend sitting on an arm chair. Such a loser move- I know! But I'm thankful of how thoughtful they were.

We dropped Harrison and Francis off at Ayala then Elwin and I headed to UNO, at Waterfront for my birthday dinner. I celebrated it with my mom, dad, sister, boyfriend, uncle Boyet, and auntie Iris. They were here at Cebu for the week.

Thank you to my family for the lovely dinner! :)

All of us for my 21st birthday dinner :)

Gifts I got on my birthday:

2k is from my grandmother
$40 from my uncle Boyet and auntie Iris
the iPhone that came earlier, I consider it a gift from my aunt and unlce
and a letter that came at 5am, from a stranger

About that letter:
It was the first gift I got that day.It was a handmade birthday card with a GUI as a front, and when you open it, the Java codes to that GUI is  written in it. My yaya Violy said that someone was at the gate at 5am, she heard the doorbell. But when she got to the gate, no one was there. I'm not sure where the letter was left, I'm guessing at the mail box. Although there was no name, no sign of who it was from, I'm sure it was from my good old buddy Theodore "Choodur" Terdes. :) So much effort making that birthday card, thank you!

Also, that night Elwin slept over at our place. He slept at the guess room. He stayed over to finish my circuits requirement. <3 Sorry I'm no good with that myself. And thank you for everything. I love you to bits. :)

Thank you again for the wonderful surprise! :)

iPhone Story

So I haven't been using my laptop lately since I've been to occupied with my new iPhone. I Twitter, Facebook, and check my mail through my iPhone. I also go on Y!M and Skype on it. It's new so it has all my attention.

September 7, 2010 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIPPY! My uncle Boyet and auntie Iris arrived. They checked in at Hilton Hotel, but they dropped by our place after they checked-in. They came to deliver my iPhone given to me by my other uncle and aunt. This iPhone's a hand-me-down from my aunt, but I don't care- not even a bit. In fact, it's more beautiful that way. It was a generous gift. :)

My sister got her iPhone a few months ago; it was my parents' graduation gift to her. I wanted one too, but it was just too expensive to buy another one. And not only is it impractical, let's face it- I don't NEED it. But yes, I want it.

Now that I have one, I'm looking forward to customizing it and buying it a screen guard and accessorizing it; of course that would require spending money that I don't have. So I'll have to save for what's necessary- a screen guard. And all the rest I'll have to do without for the time being. I do have a case for my iPhone, it came with the iPhone already. Elwin liked it since he said it looked like a grenade.

September 11, my parents went with me at Robinsons Cybergate to meet up with a guy I found through iStorya.net. I wanted to jailbreak my iPhone, but as my uncle warned me, this iPhone's version is updated and as of the moment, it will be hard to jailbreak. I'll contact him again next week to check if he can do the job by then.

I love how iPhone is a mobile phone, how I can store and play my music, how I can download free applications to occupy me in my free time, and how it is WiFi capable. :)

So here's the iPhone I've been so occupied with:

front

back; the casing that came with it

smudged up front; the casing I borrowed from my sister

borrowed casing - back; this casing I call BARNEY

my handsome lock screen wallpaper

pages and pages of free apps

So right now I'm using it like an iTouch with camera since I can't use my SIM on it yet. I'm excited to jailbreak it. I'm also happy Elwin gets to play with the iPhone with the apps he chose to download. :)

My iPhone is nameless, I wasn't sure if I should name it. Sometimes it just seems tacky to me- naming gadgets, but if I find the right name, I just might name it. Any suggestions? Elwin thinks I should give it a name. My laptop, I only call lappy, and it really isn't a name. The camera my uncle (the same uncle who gave me this iPhone) gave me, I call monkey since I placed a Frank monkey sticker on it. I think its the only gadget I've ever named, and it doesn't strike me as tacky.

Thankful.

iPhone

It's 3:21am and I have to be at school by 8am. But I just wanted to blog that my iPhone is here! Too exited to customize it. You know what it's like to have a new gadget, right? So now, I'm of to bed. I should have been asleep hours ago but my uncle and his wife were over plus after brushing my teeth my stomach growled. I had to go down and eat: chicken, mocrowaved egg, rice, and iced tea. -allie. PS: I'm blogging from my iPhone right now. Not too easy blogging from here :p

Circuits

IT213: Computer Systems Organization and Microcomputer Technology
** Click on photo to read captions **
Sorry they're hard to read.

Webcam photos of me and my boyfriend. This was yesterday, we were working on my circuits activities. At least it's more fun and interesting with him. Also, thanks to him, I now understand and know how to construct a circuit! Hooray! :D

Thank you to boyfriend and my friend Harrison Chiu for helping me our on my circuits requirement the last time. They stayed over until 5am and didn't stop until they got it right, even after I gave up and slept on them. And because of them, I got a 1.0 in Circuits. Hoorah!

So, now that sir has given out the second requirement, I'll be working on that with their help again. But before all that- INTRAMS WEEK has finally arrived! Too bad it was scheduled from Sept. 8 - 11. It's supposedly a holiday on Thursday and Friday, but we have Intrams. I hope they reimburse us our 2-day holiday next week.

8am tomorrow. I'm partenered with Karen Poligrates on the documentation of the chess and scrabble games. We're taking photos for PSITS. And I'm also partnered with Paul. I'm to assist him with whatever concerns the CCS basketball team have in the whole duration of the Intrams.

I hope this Intrams won't be such a handful. And I sincerely wish we all get to enjoy it.

I still have my SAD requirements, which I'm so behind with. There's also the Visual Basic final project which I have to partially finish by pre-finals' week. SEMBREAK COME ALREADY!

Double DY Night

credits to Ingrid for the post title.

After doing their time in college, University of Washington (Seattle), they are finally back! Brent took up Business Administration and Blanche took up Bio-Chem, I think I got that right. So it turns out they were American citizens too!

The DY twins, Blanche and Brent, finally have set foot on Cebu again! (I think they came home for a vacation a couple years back but we weren't able to meet.) We met up with them at 7:30PM at Golden Cowrie, Lahug. It was nice seeing all of us somehow grown-up, dining together on a long table, each with his and her own stories to tell and news from over the years. There's just that certain warm feeling to it, being gathered together after years of not seeing each other.

Everyone was busy chatting with each other and catching up on one another. There was a lot of conversation to go around. My boyfriend also came by from his company's basketball game.

photos of me and boyfriend for that night

The DY twins were also really sweet. They paid for our dinner and they also gave each of us gifts. For girls they gave out make-up kits, to boys they gave out tiny shoe converse keychains, and to both boys and girls they gave out mint chocolates. ^^,

After dinner, others had to leave while some of us decided to continue the hang-out elsewhere. We first went to K1, but as expected- it was full. My boyfriend decided to head home since he was tired from his basketball game and was coming up with colds.

group photos after dinner

here are some photos of John trying
to show his "love" for Blanche

We went off and transferred to ATF Grill at Banilad near my school. All Time Favorite Grill, they wanted to go there for the yogurt. I tasted Timmy's order of yogurt, but apparently, I wasn't a fan. So I got the brownie cup or choco lava as they call it, with Ingrid. I almost always never finish any dessert order on my own! It's just too sweet for my throat.

After a lot more teasing, talking, laughing, and remember-whens we decided to call it a night. We parted at ATF. Janelle and Carla went home together in Janelle's car. Alyssa and Ingrid each got their own cab. The DY twins were picked up. And in Timmy's car, which I offered to drive since Timmy was clearly beat (I think he had a long day), were Timmy, John and Charles.

More group shots

Home bound at around 12AM++. After dropping Charles off, we were headed to my place. Timmy and I managed to squeeze in a joke for John. We got him really confused as to who owns the car. He thought it was my car and I was kidding him about having to take the jeepney home. He thought we were serious and he was about to actually hail a jeepney. Funny Homer.

It was really nice seeing everyone and catching up. Seriously, a month off is just not enough! Plus, they won't be at Cebu most of the time since the Dy twins will be off to Davao and Hong Kong.

After about 10 years

See you guys next time, September 26th!

Jaded

JADED - exactly how I've been feeling lately. This is why I was able to blog again yesterday, because I decided to skip school.

I woke up at 8am and I had class at 8:30am. So I decided to skip that class. I was already comfortable at home and I honestly was tired with school, so I decided to skip it all together.

I was somehow productive yesterday. I was able to blog again. Also, boyfriend came by before going off to work. We had snacks together and he gave me the CAS shirt he bought for me.

Today, I had to FORCE myself to go to school. And when I got to school, I skipped my Visual Basic lecture since I was 30 minutes late and I was embarrassed to go in so late; I was absent last meeting too because I got backed up on. I just hung out at the PSITS office (I'm our Secretary for IT by the way, for update's sake) and waited for my 12pm Visual Basic laboratory class.

My boyfriend reported in front of the class today. I wasn't able to help him prepare as I was very busy with a SAD assignment I missed. No one told me about it. You see, I've been absent in that class for 2 straight meetings, first: because of the circuits project I had to do, I didn't get any sleep so I went home to rest, and second: because I had a lazy a*s. Anyhow, crammed with the Data Dictionary. I managed to get an extension until tomorrow. Our instructor's awfully nice; she reminds me of my grandmother

Also, I'm starting to feel the final's rush even if pre-final examination hasn't even started yet. Visual Basic's final project has just been given out, SAD is slowly getting to be a lot more hassle, and I don't even want to think about all the other subjects. This semester has got to be most heavily loaded semester yet. But I'm not complaining (really), I did ask for this.

So, I'm just doing what I know I have to even if I've lost interest. I hope the weekend will make me feel better. My back aches and I badly need a massage. SEMBREAK PLEASE COME SOONER.

-allie

And by the way,
Hello September!
I hope my birth month will be nice to me.
